Culture and attractions
Hvidovre offers countless opportunities to enjoy outdoor life on land and sea. The local environs offer excellent running, walking and cycling. A beautiful bicycle route takes you from Hvidovre along the waterfront and beaches to the Arken modern art museum in Ishøj. A trail known as the "planet trail", modelled on the solar system, takes you on a six kilometre run or walk along the coastline. The trail passes the local marina where there are a number of sailing, rowing and kayaking clubs.
Traditionally, Hvidovre has many exciting cultural offerings for children. Children and their families are able to enjoy activities or take lessons in arts, music, dancing and drama. The local theatre also performs plays suitable for children and their families. Hvidovre is also home to a circus museum which has one of northern Europe's largest collections of circus artefacts. The museum provides a natural base for many of the circuses that come to the Copenhagen area during summer.
For those working or living in Hvidovre, being so close to Copenhagen it is natural to make use of the capital's countless cultural offerings.
Hvidovre also offers a range of dining experiences, from fast-food cafés to the finest restaurants.
